Sneak Peek
Live Weather Sync
RootRun syncs with your real-world GPS location to pull live weather data, directly impacting your garden.
- Rain & Thunderstorms: Real-world rain fills your Rain Barrels, which you use to refill your watering can.
- Extreme Heat: If your local temperature hits 95°F+ (35°C+), your plants enter an extreme heat state, causing them to wilt or grow slower unless protected.
- Snow & Frost: Winter weather can freeze crops, requiring you to apply mulch or straw to protect them.
- Wind Speed: High local winds can damage taller plants; you'll need to craft support stakes to keep them upright.
Hatch Seeds by Walking
To get rare plants, you have to get moving. You discover mystery seeds that are placed in your Botanical Bag. These seeds hatch based on your actual walking distance (tracked via GPS). A seed typically goes through three stages of physical hatching over 1–1.5 kilometers before it’s ready to be planted in your garden.
Real-World Foraging
While walking, you can find wild varieties like Poppies, Daisies, and Cornflowers. Take them back to your home base and use a Seed Processor to turn wild blooms into plantable seeds for your garden. Growing these foraged varieties makes them much more valuable than the ones you find in the wild!
Community & The World Tree
Every area has a collaborative World Tree landmark that players in the same neighborhood can grow together. Real world businesses and points of interest act as in-game Marketplaces where you can turn in quests from your Mailbox for bonus rewards. You can even leave spare items for other players at the global Donation Box!
Crafting & Resource Management
Build your garden with standard or space saving vertical beds. Use Seed Processors to create new seeds from foraged flowers. You don't just buy tools. you maintain them. Use your workbench to repair Pruning Shears, Bellows, and Pressurized Sprayers.
Realistic Pest & Growth Simulation
Your plants face living threats. You have to monitor for Leaf-Lurkers, Sap-Siphons, and Root-Borers. Time your harvests carefully tomatoes and peppers can gain a dew crisp quality (worth 15% more) if harvested during specific morning dew windows.
AI-Powered Safety
Since this is a GPS game, safety is huge. An integrated AI Safety Guard analyzes map data to ensure virtual items and landmarks only spawn in cozy and safe locations like public parks, cafes, and libraries, automatically rejecting spots near busy highways or private property.
Atmosphere & Immersion
The game calculates actual sunrise and sunset times based on your specific location for a real-time day/night cycle. At night, the garden is visited by fireflies, and you can place Lantern Poles to create custom light setups. Dynamic audio like owl calls only triggers during your local night hours.
